Caterpillar EC-1 Coolant

Extended Life Coolant lasts at least twice as long as Diesel Engine Antifreeze/Coolant (DEAC) in Caterpillar machines and commercial engines, and three times longer than DEAC in Cat truck engines.

It's compatible with almost all diesel, gasoline and natural gas engines—making it a smart choice for your mixed fleet. It also meets the ASTM D4985 and ASTM D5345 standards, which apply to heavy-duty, lowsilicate antifreeze/coolants , as well as OD3306/4656 for automotive applications

Extended Life Coolants - Two options of extended life coolant include Cat ELC, which contains Glycol and Cat ELI, a water based solution that does not contain Glycol. Both provide industry leading corrosion resistance and longer engine life.

This coolant uses an Organic Acid Technology (OAT) formula that extends the life of the coolant without requiring additional additives.

Cat DEAC and Cat NGEC are conventional coolants, offering proven technology at a lower up-front cost for customers looking for that option.

Although DEACGEC is less expensive in the short-term, overall cost to own and operate will be higher because of the need for SCA
